Welcome to Sweet Taste of Saturday. Last month on Carolina HeartStrings Alessa and I were introducing some healthier alternatives to some of our favorite recipes and that was a bit of a challenge with sweets, but I think we rose to the occasion with some of our wonderful selections. This month is “Food from the Heartland” and one of my dishes was with a wonderful “grain” that was new to me called quinoa.
In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt and honey. Mix well. Pour in the quinoa and stir to combine. Spoon mixture into your favorite parfait dish and place a layer of strawberries. Continue layering strawberries and yogurt.
Serves 2.
