Description

I was never a fan of beer bread until I had this version. It is slighty dense, surprisingly sweet, and very yummy. It is, by far, my most requested recipe. It’s easy to make, too!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Self-rising Flour (*not* Regular All-purpose Flour)
  • 1 can Beer (12 Ounces)
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ½ sticks Butter, Melted

Preparation

Mix first 3 ingredients together with a mixer and pour into a loaf pan which has been sprayed with nonstick spray and floured.

Bake bread at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Take the bread out of the oven and pour melted butter on top. Be sure to pull the bread back from the sides of the pan and let it run down the sides as well.

Return the bread to the oven and bake an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Freezes well. I almost always make a double batch and freeze a loaf in a Ziploc bag.

This recipe was VERY easy & quite good. I substituted 1/2 whole wheat flour for 1/2 of the regular flour. I also poured it into 2 pans to get it finished faster AND it looked too full for one pan.

I will definitely be trying it with one pan! I used the least expensive beer I could find which was Miller High Life. Hubby LOVED it which is always a plus!

This is an excellent recipe. I like your use of melted butter. For a similar recipe please see: https://tastykitchen.com/recipes/recipes/breads/beer-bread/

Oh! I can’t wait to try this Beer Bread recipe. I’ve tried some others, but I like the idea of the melted butter….yum!
