Bring a little holiday cheer to the classic Rice Krispies Treat. Dipped in a little white chocolate and then candy cane powdered sugar, it’s holiday heaven. It’s also little-chef friendly; let them join in the fun.
To make the rice krispie treats:
Grab a medium-sized sauce pan, and melt the butter over medium heat. Add all the marshmallows and stir constantly until melted. Remove the marshmallow mixture from the heat. Add the rice krispie cereal and stir until combined. Spread over a buttered baking sheet.
I pushed the rice krispies into half of the baking sheet, so it would be squared on one end, and the freehand ended the rectangle. Let cool for 1 hour.
Cut the rice krispie treats into 1 1/2-inch strips, then into squares. I was able to get 20 rice krispie treats.
To make the candy cane dip:
Grab 2 Ziploc bags, add the powdered sugar and candy canes. Crush and shake.
To assemble:
Over a double boiler, melt 3 blocks (3 ounces each) of the white chocolate (or use a microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring in between). Dip one end of each square into the chocolate. Then into the candy cane powdered sugar. Using your hand, gently push the candy cane sugar into the treat to make sure it’s stuck to the chocolate.
Set back on the baking sheet, making sure they don’t touch another treat. Let cool for another hour.
