Excellent recipe and very easy to prepare. As others have mentioned, it has a crunchy and buttery crust. The two things I would change are as follows: (1) Use an amber beer instead of a pale ale; I am not a big fan of the bitterness from the pale ale, (2) Use a fresh jalapeño instead of pickled jalapeño. Overall, a wonderfully tasty recipe that I will make again and again.

This bread was pretty delicious…not crazy about the addition on the sugar, though. maybe I should’ve used a different kind of beer?Other than the slight sweetness I wasn’t crazy about, it was so good!

This bread is so incredible. Made this more than once already. I had friends over and they loved it too!

I have made this both with and without the jalapenos, and it’s always delicious.

This bread is awesome! I made it just as the recipe instructed, except using half the butter. I used Sam Adams Pale Ale. Next time I make this bread, I will pat it out and cut into biscuits. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

I made this last night and my husband commented that it’s not good, it’s AWESOME! I can’t wait to try it tonight. I used fresh jalapenos instead of pickled and used a little less butter.

This was amazingly good. i made it for some friends and we just couldn’t stop eating it. I’ve made other beer breads before, and they generally ended up a little too beer-y. Though the beer flavor was still present, it was more understated, went well with the cheese and jalapenos. I used about 1/2 cup jalapenos instead, came out perfect.

LOVED this bread. It was so easy to make and had GREAT flavor. 5 mitts in my book!

4 mitts doesn’t do this justice…it’s fabulous! I added a little more jalapenos than it called for, and my husband was very impressed. We had it with leftover turkey soup and WOW! You will not be disappointed.
