These onions only take a few minutes of chopping and at least an hour of sitting. Must be thrown out after 4-5 days!
Great on hamburgers, hotdogs or pulled-pork sandwiches.
Step 1: Place your roughly chopped onions in a large Mason jar. Add the salt, pepper and sugar. Pour in the vinegar, adding more if needed so the onions are covered. Shake contents together.
Step 2: Let the onions sit for at least 1 hour before using. Can be made early in the day and left to sit until supper time.
Since these onions are not technically ‘pickled’ like other onions, they must be thrown out 4-5 days after making them.
