Strawberries and raspberries with just a hint of lemon. So refreshing on a hot summer day.
Yields 5 cups.
Combine your water and sugar in a saucepan and cook over medium to low heat until sugar dissolves. This is your simple syrup. Remove from heat allow to cool a bit. Then add salt, berries and lemon juice.
Now put them in a blender (NOT your food processor) or use an immersion blender to mix it up. Strain the mixture through a mesh strainer into a bowl.
Stick bowl in the fridge for 2 to 3 hours.
Now transfer mixture into your ice cream maker and turn on. Mix for 15 to 20 minutes.
You can either serve this immediately, or put it in the freezer until ready to serve.
