One night at Milan’s Bar Basso the bartender mistakenly added spumante instead of gin while making a Negroni. From that happy mistake was born the quintessential Italian aperitivo, the Negroni sbagliato – the Mistaken Negroni – Campari, Italian vermouth and spumante. Salut!
Fill a rocks glass 3/4 full with ice. Pour in Campari and vermouth. Top with spumante and stir. Garnish with an orange wheel, and serve at once.
