Tasty peaches, in a spicy syrup. Refreshing during summer!
In a pan, gently grill saffron filaments/threads over medium heat, for just a few minutes until it starts to get fragrant. Then add apple juice and cloves. Bring to boil, then lower the heat and let the syrup cook for 5 minutes on low heat.
Make an incision on the bottom (non stem end) of the peaches (a cross shape). Add them into the pan of liquid. Let them gently cook for 20 minutes. Strain the cloves and saffron threads out of the liquid before serving.
Serve peaches in the syrup – either warm or chilled.
