This cocktail is great for the holidays or any time of the year.
Note: To make ginger syrup, chop 1 large piece of fresh ginger and simmer in 2 cups of simple syrup for about an hour. Strain and cool.
To make the cocktail, in shaker, muddle the pear wedges and ginger syrup. Add remaining ingredients and ice. Shake and strain over ice. Add orange slice garnish.
