Description

My mother made these for us growing up. We love them and they are easy, fast, and economic. Who needs yeast?!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil
  • 1 can Buttermilk Biscuits
  • 1 can Favorite Flavor Frosting

Preparation

Let the oil heat in a skillet on medium heat.

Using a bottle top or some other small hole cutter, cut out the center of each of the ten biscuits.

Reserve the holes, roll them up.

Put the holes and biscuits into the oil and let them cook until each side is golden brown. Normally 3-4 minutes on each side.

Remove them to paper towels to cool.

Cover with frosting and eat up.

They disappear in my house. Best for your buck, get the four tube biscuits and make them for a quick snack through the week.

Ah, childhood memories. My mom made them for me and I made them for my children. I still love them.

Thank you for these! My daughter has friends over tonight and the cookies I had made were a total fail. I was able to whip these up really quick and they loved them. We used the cinnamon sugar to top them. I am Mom of the Year now!

I make these ALL the time for my family. We love them. There are so many ways to make the. I used some powdered sugar, milk and vanilla to make a glaze and they taste almost like Krispy Kreme donuts. My kids fight over the donut holes. I also microwave the chocolate frosting for just a few seconds until it loosens up a bit and just dip the donuts.

My mom always made these when my sister and I were growing up! We rolled them in powdered sugar or a mixture of cinnamon and sugar when they came out of the oil.

What a memory and they are GOOD

I used to make these when I was younger too! I always covered them with powdered sugar right when they came out of the oil. It made kind of a glazed donut. So I will have to try frosting. Yum!

Made these this morning and they were FANTASTIC!! I can’t believe how easy they were. They tasted nothing like biscuits. I made PW’s donut glaze and a chocolate glaze and they tasted like donut store donuts.

THANK YOU for sharing this recipe!!

Delicious donuts; they didn’t taste like a biscuit at all. Mine took only about two minutes on each side and tasted best when they were still warm from the oil. It definitely helps to microwave the frosting (unless you make your own) to help it spread and ooze down the sides of the donuts better. I microwaved one that had completely cooled for 15 seconds and it was almost like new again.
