This banana bread is more of a dessert than a morning snack with coffee. Moist, full of peanut butter with a streusel topping, this won’t last for long!
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and lightly flour a bread pan.
Topping:
In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, peanut butter and cinnamon. Use a fork to blend well into small chunks. Set aside.
Bread:
Cream together butter, cream cheese*, eggs, and sugar. Add in mashed bananas and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Slowly add to the banana mix. Add in chocolate chips.
Pour half of batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with half the topping mix. Repeat layers by pouring in remaining batter and topping with remaining topping.
Bake for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted. Let cool in pan for 15 minutes before removing and cooling completely on wire rack.
*You may substitute 1/2 cup mayo, sour cream or applesauce for the cream cheese.
