I love a vodka soda, clean and simple with a good splash of lime. This is pretty much the same thing, but it is kicked up with these gorgeous ice cubes and the subtle sweet and sour and bitter flavor of the pomegranate seeds.
I happened to have cool sphere-shaped ice cube makers, but plain old cubes would be just as cool.
Pomegranate seed ice cubes:
After plucking (or beating with a spoon!) the pomegranate for all of its seeds, pack the seeds as densely as possible into the ice cube tray.
Fill the cubes with water so that they all freeze together. Plop into the freezer for the day or overnight.
In a fresh (preferably chilled glass), place the ice cubes.
Add the vodka and then the soda.
Finish with a squeeze of lime. Enjoy!
