This is a stiffer cream cheese frosting great for holding piping swirls for cupcakes and cake decorating. It tastes great, too.
In a 5 quart mixer with the paddle attachment, soften the butter and cream cheese until well blended. Slowly add the sifted powdered sugar, one spoonful at a time, until well blended. I like this frosting without any other flavoring, but feel free to add 1 – 2 teaspoons of vanilla (use clear vanilla if you need a snow white color), and some folks like a 1/2 teaspoon of lemon flavoring.
This makes a large batch of frosting, and it will hold piping really well.
