Description

These are the simplest and best green beans I have ever had. I never even liked green beans, until this recipe. All I knew was the green beans in a can growing up.

Ingredients

  • 2-½ cups Frozen Whole Green Beans
  • ½ sticks Butter
  • ¾ cups Diced Yellow Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • ¼ Tablespoons Kosher Salt
  • ¼ Tablespoons Fresh Ground Black Pepper

Preparation

1. Bring a medium-sized pot of water to a boil.
2. Once boiling, add 2 1/2 handfuls of frozen whole green beans.
3. Boil green beans for 5 to 10 minutes, testing the softness of the green beans to your liking. I like mine with a bit of a crunch.
4. Drain the green beans and set aside.
5. Using the same pot that you used for the water, melt the butter and add the onion.
6. Once the onion starts to become clear and smell really good, add the drained green beans.
7. Add the seasoning and toss.
8. Serve immediatley and enjoy!

You can also add a small, drained can of diced tomatoes and Italian dressing to this recipe to make it Italian style. I eat it that way for an entire meal like I would eat spaghetti, and it is healthier!

I really liked this recipe! I used pre-cut green beans (all I had) and reduced the amount of butter by about a tablespoon. Even my husband, who is a self-professed green bean hater, said “Now THAT’S how you’re supposed to eat green beans!” Thank you for a quick, easy recipe!
