Description

Okra has never been so good. Salty, crisp and slightly smoky, grilled okra is a must-have the next time you grill.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart Okra, Fresh
  • 1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt

Preparation

Light a grill and let the fire die down a bit (around 500°-550°).

Place okra in a large bowl. Add olive oil and salt. Stir, making sure okra is evenly coated.

Next, place okra on the grill and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until the okra is cooked through but still remains firm.

Serve immediately and enjoy.

Meredith, Can you recommend a dipping sauce for this?

My husband just brought fresh okra home today. I usually like it pickled. Think I’ll give this a go. thanks – this is my first recipe idea since signing up a few minutes ago, so perfect.

Do you take the caps off the okra before you grill them?

Grilled okra is sooo good! I’ve never measured anything, but I use basically the same method. Toss it with olive oil, then salt and pepper it. Our children love it as well!
