Description

Simple, delicious and so easy!

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Vidalia Onions
  • 4 whole Beef Bouillon Cubes
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 8 Tablespoons Mozzarella Cheese

Preparation

Peel four large vidalia onions or any sweet onion. Scoop out the center of the onions. Drop one bouillon cube in each onion and top with one tablespoon butter. Wrap tightly in aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes at 400 degrees. Unwrap the onions five minutes before they’re done and top each with two tablespoons mozzarella cheese.

You won’t believe how delicious these are. They have the flavor of French onion soup. They’re great with steaks, chicken or fish. Enjoy!

Browsing through different side recipes I stumbled across the same vidalia onion recipe we whip up at home and just had to comment!

This is one of the most amazing sides ever! My husband and I just love a pot roast, potatoes, candied carrots and THIS onion recipe of wonderfulness!

We usually make a huge batch because our dinner guests are always wanting seconds!

Oh, dear lord, these were DIVINE! My husband was very skeptical, but agrees that we need to be making these a LOT more!

I did end up using Monteray jack cheese, because we didn’t have any mozzarella, but it worked out great! I recommend serving with a thick slice of hearty bread to scoop up those lovely onion slices and sop up the juices!
