This addictive and delicious treat, with its white chocolate drizzle, is a great way to watch the ball drop this New Year’s Eve.
Preheat oven to 200ºF.
In a medium saucepan, over meduim heat, melt butter and add brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Cook on medium to high (just simmering) for 5 minutes until the brown sugar is disolved and it turns a amber color.
Place popcorn and pecans in a large bowl (at least 5-cup capacity). Add brown sugar mixture to coat. Quickly—and I do mean quickly—in a single layer, spread mixture on a large greased sheet pan or Silpat (you may have to use 2 pans). Be cautious, the brown sugar mixture is very hot! Bake for 1 hour. Allow to cook and break into pieces.
In a 3-quart sauce pan, melt the white chocolate. Drizzle over the popcorn. Toss in M&Ms or Reese’s pieces. Cool until set.
Enjoy!
