Description

This thick, delicious syrup can be used on almost everything! Pour some into milk or coffee drinks. Use it to top ice cream and desserts. Or just grab a spoonful and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract

Preparation

Whisk cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a pot until combined. Add water and whisk or stir until well blended. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove syrup from heat and allow to cool.

When cooled completely, stir in vanilla extract until well combined. Pour syrup into an airtight container and refrigerate.

Makes approximately 1 3/4 cups of syrup and will keep in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. (It’ll never last that long though!)

Use 1 tablespoon per glass of chocolate milk.

This is so good and so much cheaper than most chocolate syrups! Thank so much for the recipe!

Very good chocolate syrup, but I’m not convinced it’s better than store bought.

I love this. The first glass of chocolate milk I made I wasn’t convinced. I felt it was too much cocoa and not sweet enough. But after drinking a few more glasses I craved the less sweet version of the store bought stuff. My two year old loves it!

Love it! So easy to make and tastes a million times better than the store-bought syrup. Using this in my iced coffee every morning…can’t wait to try it over ice cream.

Delicious! Very similar to our recipe for chocolate drop cookies. Just be careful when you make it because it foams up over the flame!

This is so easy to make and so delicious! Mine kept over 3 weeks in the fridge without going bad. In fact, the flavor seemed to get better as it “aged”.
