As a kid, I ate more of this at the Thanksgiving table than any other delicious food! As a diabetic adult, I’ve tweaked it to make it carb-friendly, and I still eat more of this than anything else at the Thanksgiving table! If you want to make it with regular Jello, just substitute that for the sugar-free Jello; all other ingredients are the same.

This recipe grew out of a very basic bread recipe from the South Beach diet, which didn’t taste very good but was slightly better than a brick. The current variant is 100% whole wheat and one of the few bread recipes in which I can’t taste Splenda.
