Description

Marilee always brought these to every potluck at work. When diagnosed with a terminal cancer, she made us promise to have them at every potluck in her honor. That was a long time ago. Here’s to you, Marilee!!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Frozen Meatballs
  • 1 can Whole Cranberry Sauce (16 Oz)
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Sauerkraut
  • 1 jar Chili Sauce, 12 Ounce Jar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar

Preparation

Place frozen meatballs in a large pot.

Mix all the remaining ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir to combine, heat thoroughly, then pour over meatballs.

Continue to cook over medium heat until all is incorporated and meatballs are cooked (according to the timing on the meatball package). You can serve immediately or keep warm in a crock pot.

The instructions don’t call for draining the sauerkraut.

These are wonderful! Appetizer or dinner (just add rice or mashed potatoes and a veggie!) Thanks so much for the recipe and what a beautiful tribute to your friend!

You’ll never taste the sauerkraut in these! It is unbelievable that all the ingredients here come out with such a great flavor. This is another recipe that’s a good stand by for me.

I took this to a potluck and they were a huge hit! I did drain the sauerkraut, but I don’t really know if it was necessary. I also might make my own meatballs next time, but this is a fabulous sauce. It’s definitely a keeper. Thank you so much!

These are the best meatballs, sauerkraut is not noticed at all, the flavors are amazing. This is one of the first things to go at potlucks no matter how much food it there.
