I agree that the dough is tricky. For some reason the dough was very soft when I made it–almost like a batter–so I ended up adding an extra cup of flour (3 cups flour instead of 2) and letting it chill overnight to harden. I was able to roll it out the next day and the bars turned out fine. I rolled the dough out very thin and trimmed away a lot of the excess after crimping the edge. I think there was a good balance of filling to dough in the finished product.
As far as flavor, I think the dough has a nice, subtly sweet flavor. The texture is a little chewy, which is what I would expect of a dough made with quick oats. You can tell you are eating something healthy, but I thought it tasted nice. The filling is out of this world and is really the star of the dish.
Overall I like these bars. They are a quick and powerful little snack and I love all the nutrients that are packed into a small treat. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

The fruit filling was great, I used a frozen 4 berry recipe and dates, everyone LOVED that; but the dough left a lot to be desired. I don’t know if it was because this was my first time with this recipe, but it came out quite thick (even after rolling to the suggested thickness) and just not very appetizing.
I love the idea of this recipe, but after eating a few it just didn’t really work out for me :\.
