Description

These jalapenos are as good as the original Pioneer Womans recipe and will dissapear just as fast. These are Dairy Free, Gluten Free.

Ingredients

  • 12 whole Jalapenos, Sliced Lengthwise
  • 8 ounces, weight Tofutti's Better Than Cream Cheese (Cream Cheese Substitute)
  • 8 ounces, weight Rice Cheese (any Flavor)
  • 1 package Bacon (1 Pound)
  • ½ cups BBQ Sauce

Preparation

1. Slice jalapenos lengthwise, rinse and clean out seeds and membranes.

2. Mix tub of cream cheese, cheese and if you have any optional ingredients mix them in too. I have used chopped chives, green onions or 2 teaspoons of Tastefully Simple’s Onion and all taste great.

3. Stuff peppers with mix.

4. Wrap bacon around jalapenos.

5. Brush with BBQ sauce.

6. Bake at 350F for 30- 4o minutes until bacon is crisp. If you have a convection oven that works too – use the same temperature. It just makes your bacon crispier.

Alternate: Bake 275 for an hour.

Double check your cheese. Some people can handle small bits of casein. Some of the “dairy free” cheeses have casein in it. I have seen Soy, Rice and Almond Cheese and depending on the brand depends on whether it has casein in it. Just an afterthought on this recipe.
