Description

This is a quick, easy snack to make and a very difficult one to stop eating. It’s a sweet and salty twist on your usual popcorn.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups To 10 Cups Popped Popcorn
  • ½ cups Unsalted Butter, Cut Into Pieces
  • ⅓ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1-½ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 pinches Kosher Salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Pop popcorn and spread onto a large cookie sheet. (I used a hot air popcorn popper.) Melt butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted, about 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in vanilla extract. Spoon butter mixture over popcorn and sprinkle with salt. Toss to coat as many pieces of popcorn as you can.

Place in the oven for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely. If storing (not likely!), place in an airtight container.

This is my new favorite snack! Unfortunately, I ate the whole thing myself. Wow, this is good!

I love the idea of salty-sweet kettle corn but I am always disappointed by its subtlety. This popcorn definitely doesn’t have that problem…it is a wonderful snack! I substituted 2 Tbsp of corn syrup for some of the sugar (because I like the chewier texture.) Really delicious, thanks for sharing this!

Made this for the kids last night. They really liked it and they have informed me that this is to be put in the “keeper” file. Thank you for the recipe!!

This is now a household standby. Not only does it taste wonderful but there’s no need to light any scented candles when it’s baking. YUM!

The weather felt somewhat “fallish” this past weekend, so I searched for a snack with some autumn flavor–this hit the spot! Will def make again.

I just made this today and I was great. I only had bagged popcorn so I halved the recipe, fished out the unpopped cornels. I put the popcorn in a big mixing bowl poured the cinn mixture over the popcorn and folded it until it was pretty much coated and served it straight out of the bowl. I had a wonderful chocolate recipe but two years ago my computer died on me and I lost years of recipes that I had painstakingly put on it from of my boxes of scrape paper recipes. I cried…… I was tried to remember the recipe while I was making this one. Chocolate and Cinn popcorn, my mouth is watering for a big movie weekend, like star wars, Indiana Jones, we just did Lord of the Rings so it will be awhile before we see that one again.
