The warm weather has arrived, and that means it’s time to dust off your grill! For me, a family barbeque wouldn’t be complete without a big dish of baked beans; they’re a grilling-out staple! These baked beans don’t have a very intense barbeque flavor; instead, they are sweet, tangy, and the perfect complement to those hamburgers or barbequed chicken breasts. Give these a try next time you and your family grill out!
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Open the can of pork and beans and dump them into your favorite oven-safe casserole dish.
Fry the diced bacon in a skillet over medium heat until it is crispy. Add the bacon to the beans.
Leave about 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease in the skillet; cook the diced yellow onion in the bacon grease until it is no longer crunchy. Add the onion and the bacon grease you used to cook the onion to the bacon and beans.
Add the ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar to the bean mixture; stir until thoroughly combined. Salt and pepper to taste. Bake, uncovered, for 23-25 minutes. Eat alongside a juicy burger and some potato salad! Also, this recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to serve a much larger crowd.

This is a great recipe for homestyle baked beans. These baked beans taste like they could be right from your grandmother’s kitchen!
