A classic Pennsylvania Dutch dish. Goes great with fish, chicken, or food right from the grill. Great in summer, winter, or any season in between!
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Mix first 5 ingredients together and season to taste with salt and pepper. Put in a greased baking dish. Add butter on top. Bake for 1 hour.
Note: Fresh tomatoes can be substituted. Use 1-2 lbs. fresh chopped tomatoes, adding tomato juice as needed. Texture should be slightly wetter than a stuffing or dressing.
