Roasting allows the natural sugars in foods to caramelize. The edges get crispier and the insides get sweeter. Roasting broccoli turns it into a crunchy, smoky, salty treat that is completely addictive.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Toss thoroughly to combine.
Spread the broccoli in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Roast for 5 minutes. Flip over the florets and continue roasting for 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly charred and the florets are still crisp. (You don’t want to overcook the broccoli, or it will be come soft and limp, not crispy and crunchy.)
Serve immediately.
** This is just the basic recipe. Feel free to jazz it up by adding some garlic or chili flakes before roasting. Or try some lemon juice or parmesan cheese when the broccoli is hot out of the oven. Just make sure you don’t skimp on the olive oil, since that’s what allows the broccoli to really crisp up.

LOVE this broccoli! I love your recipe! My little girls added Parmesan at the end of baking & it was delicious as well. (They think you have to have cheese with every vegetable.)

I make this exactly as the recipes calls for it with one addition, a few drops of low sodium soy sauce. I get RAVES every time I make this. Buy the monster bags of florets at the warehouse club and this makes for a great side dish several times a week.

Yum, sounds great! We have broccoli everywhere in the garden and I need some other ideas for it!
