Description

A very simple recipe that produces amazing flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 head Cauliflower
  • ¼ cups Olive Oil (approximate)
  • Sea Salt And Pepper, To Taste

Preparation

Preheat oven to 450 F. Wash cauliflower and cut up into florets.

Put florets in a 9-by-13-inch pan, then drizzle with olive oil. You probably won’t need a full quarter-cup; you want a moderate amount, not a complete coating. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper. Stir well.

Put in the oven for 45-50 minutes, stirring once or twice. If the tips start to look browned or black, don’t worry—that caramelization gives it its great flavor. You want some browning and blackening.

That’s it—enjoy! This also can be done with broccoli.

We cooked this tonight. It tastes really good, but next time, we’ll cut larger pieces of cauliflower because it shrinks a lot, and we’ll use less olive oil. We coated the cauliflower thoroughly, which was too much.

We’ll definitely make this again, maybe tomorrow night.

Me too – except I cut it into 1 cm thick slices!

I usually sprinkle it with garlic powder too (not salt, ground dehydrated garlic). Lots of it! I love the flavor, I tried chopped garlic but it tended to burn — and burnt garlic is not a good flavor.

Yum… I have been making something like this for years, only I cut my cauliflower into wedges. I love the leftovers cold the next day too.
