This is just like a delicious applesauce, but made with plums!
(Here’s the thing. I peeled all of my plums with a potato peeler and then pitted them. I then cooked them in the crock pot. It was not an extremely long process, but it took a while. So, if you know of a better way to cook the plums, please do so.)
Wash your plums. After you wash the plums, peel them, and remove the pit. Cut into chunks and place in the crock pot.
Dump in the sugar and the cinnamon. Turn your crock pot to High. Let it be for an hour, stirring occasionally.
After an hour, turn to low and cook for another hour, stirring occasionally. The plums will be nice and juicy, with a lot of liquid.
After the second hour, remove all plum pieces and put them in a blender. Mix them super well and add in 2 t0 3 tablespoons of the liquid left in the crock pot.
Let it cool overnight.
Eat it as a snack, an addition to breakfast … maybe spread it on toast.
Note: I want to make some more and try to freeze it and see if it will keep until the fall. Yum!

@ milkwithknives, I was wondering if I could just cook them with the skin on… I had never done it before, so I did not know if they would separate on their own. Please let me know how it goes!

I’ve made apple butter in my crockpot before, and I just left the skins on (fiber and pectin! yay!). I buzzed the whole thing up with my stick blender and it was perfectly smooth and skin-free. I’ll make this plum sauce the next time plums go on sale and I’ll let you know how it goes with the skins.
