The perfect side for your Chinese New Year’s dinner!
In a large saucepan over low heat, cook onion in butter and oil until caramelized. When is translucent, add crushed garlic and cook for an additional 3 minutes. Add frozen green beans and water and cook for about 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch or flour with enough water to make a paste. Add paste into the onion and green bean mixture and stir thoroughly. Add teriyaki sauce and soy sauce and stir. Add pepper flakes a little at a time (this heats up fast), starting with the listed amount and working your way up!
