A quick summer side dish, these grilled garlic scapes garnished with lemon and Parmesan are a delicious addition to any BBQ or cookout. Very similar to grilled asparagus, but with a garlicky flavor!
Preheat BBQ or cast iron griddle until blazing hot.
Wash garlic scapes in fresh water to rinse of any dirt or debris, especially if harvested from your own garden. Brush or toss garlic scapes in oil, and then toss them on the hot grill. Make sure the grill is really hot to get some nice grill marks on the scapes without them turning to mush.
Grill garlic scapes for a minute or two on each side, and sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper.
Garnish the grilled garlic scapes with grated Parmesan, and freshly squeezed lemon. Serve immediately.
