Easy, great taste, somewhat “German” or Pennsyvania Dutch” in taste.
Place drained beans in a 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Place onion rings on top of beans.
Crumble bacon and place on top of the onions.
Sprinkle almonds over the bacon.
Add sugar and vinegar to the bacon drippings and heat until the sugar dissolves. Pour over the casserole. Marinate for several hours or overnight.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Note: I use Splenda in place of sugar and it works well.
