This is another family recipe handed down through several generations. No holiday passes without this dish on my table. The smell as it cooks reminds me of growing up.
Chop bacon and fry. When it’s crispy, pull the bacon out to drain on a paper towel. Reserve the drippings in your pan.
Cook onion in bacon drippings until brown. Put vinegar in with onions and bacon drippings. Add flour. Stir. Add frozen green beans and bacon. Completely cover pan with a lid. Simmer for 1 hour. Add water or vinegar as needed. Salt to taste.

At any point do you add back in the bacon?

Loved them! I didn’t actually cook them for one hour (poor planning on my part) but they were still delicious!
