This is a great twist on traditional cole slaw. It’s not only been handed down in my family, but it’s also a favorite and a staple at any family function.
Bring sugar, water and vinegar to a boil in a small saucepan. Boil for 1 minute until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and add the celery seed. Let cool completely and add a pinch of salt and pepper.
In a large bowl, place your shredded cabbage. Pour the cooled mixture over the cabbage and stir to combine. For best results, refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
