Cherry Cola Cooked Apples

Description
The “kissing cousin” of baked apples, these are simple and delicious.
Ingredients
- 4 whole Granny Smith Apples
- ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- ½ cups Unsalted Butter
- ¼ cups Dried Cherries Or Raisins
- ¼ cups Pecans Or Walnuts, Chopped
- ¼ cups Light Brown Sugar, Loosely Packed
- 1 cup Cola Soda
- 1 Tablespoon Red Hot Cinnamon Candies
Preparation
Core and slice the apples (I left the skin on) and place in a large nonstick skillet. Add the remaining ingredients and cover. Cook until the apples are tender and the sugar and cinnamon candies are dissolved. Keep watch and add more cola, if needed. Serve warm.
