A twist on regular grits that is cheesy, spicy and flavourful. Leftovers aren’t bad for breakfast either.
Put the milk and water into a medium-sized saucepan and bring to a boil. Then whisk in the grits. Let it cook for 5 minutes or until grits are done, stirring constantly. Then add the green salsa and heat through. Then mix in the cheese, and stir until it’s all incorporated.
Remove from heat and serve immediately. This is a wonderful creamy grit recipe which goes great with shrimp or as a side for chicken, or whatever sounds good to you. It also makes an awesome breakfast if there are any leftovers.
