I am a food enthusiast and I love cooking and whole lot of other things…. you will know more as you follow my blog. We had gone to the- ‘pick your own veggies’ farm. It was soo exciting because it brought back memories of buying vegetables in the markets back in India. The veggies were so fresh and tender. The kids loved it there. Came back home and made this yummy dish! The aroma of the seasonings made us even more hungry!
Wash and peel the beetroot and chop it into small pieces, then steam it until it’s softened and drain the excess water. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard, skinned and split black lentils and curry leaves and saute for 30 seconds.
Add the chili powder and curry powder and saute for another 30 seconds.
Add the steamed beetroot and fry it for 1 minute.
Add coarsely ground roasted split gram and cook it for 1 minute longer.
Garnish with curry leaves.
