Easy and delicious! The maple syrup really adds something special to the taste.
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Cut the squash in half and remove the seeds. Salt the cut sides and place them face down on the baking sheet. Bake until you can pierce the squash easily with a fork, about 50 minutes. (Baking time depends on the size of the squash. Some take a little less time, some a little more.)
Turn the squash over and poke a few holes in it with your fork. Slather the butter and then maple syrup over the squash. Bake for a few more minutes.
