This is another recipe I picked up from my mother-in-law. They are just doctored up canned baked beans!
Place your diced onion, ketchup, and brown sugar in a 9×13 pan. You want just enough onions to spread over the pan; typically, 1 large onion is plenty.
Place this mixture in a 350-degree oven and bake till the mixture turns thick. This usually takes about an hour.
Pour drained baked beans on top of the mixture. Top with the diced uncooked bacon. Return to the oven till bacon browns. I typically cook it for about 10 minutes and then usually end up using the broiler to get the bacon crisp.
These are great when you need to take a side dish somewhere. They do great in the crock pot. They can easily be halved as well.
