Description

Simple and delicious, sure to become a family favorite! My teenage daughter eats leftovers COLD.

Ingredients

  • 4 cans (14.5 Oz. Can) Whole Green Beans
  • 8 strips Bacon
  • 1 whole Yellow Onion (small)
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • Lawry's Garlic Salt With Parsley

Preparation

Open and drain cans of green beans. Cook bacon in a large, deep skillet until crisp. Remove bacon. Drain all but about a tablespoon of bacon drippings (keep the yummy stuff left over in the skillet!) and retain extra drippings.

Chop onion and mince garlic. Heat the skillet with bacon drippings until piping hot. Sauté onion and garlic in bacon drippings until onion is translucent, keeping the heat on high. Crumble crisp bacon into the sauteed onion and garlic, stirring until bacon is reheated. Still keeping heat on high, add all of the whole green beans (using whole green beans is important, as the green beans will cook down a lot). Dribble about a tablespoon of the retained bacon drippings over the top.

Use spatula to gently turn and combine green beans with ingredients in the pan. Season with Lawry’s Garlic Salt to taste. Turn gently with a spatula (to pull small ingredients from the bottom and mix while not breaking the green beans) occasionally. Continue until green beans are soft and flavors have melded, about 10 minutes. Serve hot!

This recipe was created for family gatherings. You can easily reduce the ingredients for a smaller serving size.
