This is a lovely way to lightly scent sugar with the floral essence of lavender. I like to use it in place of regular white sugar in some baked good (it’s excellent in short breads), sprinkled on some sugar cookies, or even as a sweetener in a cup of tea. It takes a few days to ‘steep’ but is well worth the wait. It also makes a great low-cost but delicious gift. And no, it doesn’t taste like soap!
1. Put the sugar and lavender sprigs in a 500mL (16 ounce) glass jar with a lid.
2. Close the jar and let it sit in your cupboard for one week.
3. Remove the lavender and the sugar is ready to use!
