Vanilla Powder is used in baking and for flavoring coffees and teas. I use this in all of my Gifts From the Kitchen Cookie recipes.
Vanilla powder can be very expensive. I make my own and it’s very simple.
Cut vanilla beans in half. Place in a coffee or spice grinder. Pulverize into vanilla powder. Store in an airtight container in a dry dark place.

What a great recipe. I have seen vanilla powder called or in recipes, but I have never seen it in the store. So awesome that you can make your own!

You can put them into the microwave for 10 seconds ,and you always use half of the measurement the liquid exract calls for. You can use your old beansas well.

I have lots of vanilla beans so this sounds great. How much powder would equal 1 tsp. of liquid vanilla? Do I need to dry my beans? They are vacuum sealed right now.
