I was given this recipe years ago, but frankly haven’t tried it—I never have Instant Carnation Milk on hand. But I loved the article about making your own ingredients, and remembered this for anybody interested.
Microwave the water until boiling, 1-2 minutes. Put all ingredients into the blender and mix until smooth.
Makes 1 1/4 cup, the equivalent of one can of Eagle Brand milk.

Thanks Lauralee! I made the fix a few days ago, and my browser crashed on me and I thought I lost the whole thing! I appreciate your keen eye

It is CARNATION INSTANT “POWDERED” MILK that is used in this recipe. Don’t use the NON-INSTANT kind. Read the box label to make sure to get the right powdered milk. I have made this recipe for over 30 years and it works great. Although I have made it without adding the white corn syrup all with the same great results. The only difference is the mixture is not quite as thick. You can use this mixture for any recipe that calls for Sweetened Condensed Milk with confidence.
