Description

This is the best deviled egg recipe I have ever found. I’m always asked to bring them to potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 8 whole Hardboiled Eggs
  • 4 Tablespoons Mayonnaise Or To Your Desired Consistancy
  • 1 Tablespoon White Vinegar Or Lemon Juice (I Prefer The Vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon Prepared Mustard (not Dijon)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 dashes Hot Pepper Sauce Or More To Taste

Preparation

Peel and halve the eggs. Remove the yolks into a bowl and mash.

In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and mix well. Add to the yolks and stir to combine.

Refill the egg whites with the yolk mixture. Sprinkle with paprika if desired.

I am a deviled egg purist – the simpler the better for me but here are some suggested additions if you are so compelled: 1/4 C finely chopped ham, 1/4 C crumbled cooked bacon (about 2 slices), 1/4 C chopped dried beef with 1 tbls. sweet pickle relish, 1/4 C finely chopped shrimp or crab with a dash of curry powder, 1/4 C shredded cheese or 1/4 C chopped green or ripe olives. Hope you enjoy!

Excellent recipe! My husband loved the ones I made yesterday. He does not like sweet tasting deviled eggs. I loved them as well but would probably cut back on the salt next time.

For the Hot Pepper Sauce, I used Sriracha sauce. I also put a dot of it on each egg along with a sprinkle of paprika which gave them a unique spicy flavor.

I think next time I will also try Hungarian Sweet or Smoked Paprika.
