Description

A little spicy snack with garlic sausage and dough with vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Water, Lukewarm
  • 1 package (7g Packet) Yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 5 cups Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • ½ cups Hot (almost Boiling) Water
  • 1 cup Dried Vegetables (Onions, Leek, Etc.)
  • 15 slices Soft Garlic Sausage (or Other To Taste)

Preparation

Make a dough from the lukewarm water, yeast, sugar, olive oil, flour and salt. If it is very sticky use some more flour. If it is a little dry, use some more water. You can do this by hand or let your machine knead the dough. You can also use premixed flour to make dough for bread.

Let it rise; it should be doubled in size.

Pour the hot water over the vegetables and let is sit for 10 minutes. Drain the vegetables. Divide the sausage slices into halves.

Knead the vegetables in the dough. If it gets sticky, knead in some extra flour.

Cover a tray with a sheet of parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

Roll out the dough, about 5 millimeters thick. Take a cookie cutter (round one, a little bigger than the sausage slices) and cut 30 rounds out of the dough. Put one (half) slice of the sausage on the dough and fold it in a moon shape. Be sure to pinch the dough on the edges.

Put them on the baking tray. You could drizzle them with some olive oil, fresh grounded pepper or some coarse salt. Bake them golden brown, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Serve warm or room temperature.
