Description

Simple popcorn loaded with marjoram, paprika and salted butter that really gets those taste buds going. Perfect for a party, or a quick snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • ½ cups Your Favorite Popcorn Kernels
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Marjoram
  • ½ teaspoons Hot Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt, To Your Taste
  • ¼ cups Unsalted, Melted Butter, To Taste

Preparation

Start by getting a large pot onto the stove, and bring it to a medium heat. Add in the oil and the two tablespoons of butter, and let it melt and heat up. After a few minutes, add just a few kernels of corn. Cover pot with a lid and give it a gentle shake. Then once the kernels pop, add in the remaining kernels. Cover the pot and begin shaking the pot back and forth, keeping it on the burner as you do. This will be your job until the popcorn is done popping. Midway through popping add in the marjoram, paprika and salt. Cover the pot and continue shaking and shaking to finish popping. When most of the popping subsides, it’s done.

Dump the corn into a large bowl. Add in the melted butter and another pinch of salt, then give it a good toss. Taste, and season with more butter or salt if you prefer.

The end result is a popcorn that is perfectly spiced. It has some spice from the hot paprika and a light oregano flavor. Even my pickiest eater was scraping the popcorn into the seasoning. The cool thing about seasoned popcorn is that you can come up with your own favorite mix of flavors. Try garlic, onion and lemon pepper. I also made this combination and well … it was devoured.
