This is a versatile green salsa recipe that resembles guacamole, but it isn’t guacamole. I got the recipe from my host ‘madre’ while studying in Mexico several years ago, although ‘recipe’ is an overstatement. It was more of a list of ingredients that I still experiment with each time I make it. Regardless, it’s always a hit at parties or at home!
Blend peppers, onion, and water in food processor or blender (I use blender) until almost smooth. Add tomatillos, cilantro, and brown sugar. Blend until texture looks rough.
Scoop avocados (pitted, of course) into bowl and mash until chunky. Stir in pepper sauce, along with sea salt and lime juice to taste. Serve and enjoy!
