Yummy mixture of sausage, beef and cheese on rye toasts! My Aunt Betty Lou always made these when we were kids. She used to have to hide some so that latecomers wouldn’t be left out.
Brown and crumble sausage and hamburger together in a skillet over medium heat. Drain. Stir in all the dried spices. Return to heat and add cubed Velveeta to meat mixture and stir until cheese has melted and combined well with the meat. Remove from heat. Line party rye in a single layer on baking sheets. I use a little less than two packages of bread. Spread about one tablespoon of meat/cheese mixture onto each slice of bread. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Serve warm.

These are so good – men love them – and seem like such a 70’s snack!

This sounds very similar to our recipe “Sausage on Rye”. We love it!
