Description

These little cheese bites are quite addictive —but be prepared for the kick!

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks Butter, Softened
  • 2 cups Grated Extra Sharp Cheese, Room Temperature
  • 1-½ teaspoon Salt, Or To Taste
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 72 pieces Pecan Halves

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Once butter and cheese are at room temperature, mix together with salt and cayenne pepper.

Add flour and work into a large, smooth ball. Roll into small balls about one inch in diameter.

Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Press a pecan half onto each ball to flatten.

Bake for 15 minutes.

Yields 6 dozen.

I am making these for my holiday party tonight! But, I will probably leave off the pecans. I’ll let you know how it goes :-)

These were quick,easy, and tasted great too! I made them for a tailgate snack…but I will make them for my holiday snack trays too! I did sprinkle some of the extra shredded cheese on the tops of mine before I baked them…I like the added crunch of the “burned” cheese…made them look a little more like a casual snack too.
