Description

A healthy, and nutritious snack that is extremely easy to make and can be eaten any time of the day. Who doesn’t love that?

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Thick Rolled Oats
  • 1-½ cup Sweetened Coconut Flakes
  • 4 ounces, weight Sliced Almonds
  • ½ cups Dark Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Maple Syrup
  • ½ cups Wheat Germ, Lightly Toasted
  • 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 whole Egg White, Beaten
  • ½ cups Dried Cherries
  • ½ cups Dried Blueberries

Preparation

Mix everything but the dried cherries and berries into a mixing bowl, and make sure everything is nicely combined.

Preheat your oven to 300ºF and layer the granola mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, or use your Silpat if you have one. This ensures a more even baking process. Bake for about 45 minutes, taking the granola out of the oven halfway through to gently stir, evening it out before placing back into the oven.

Take a peek 45 minutes into the baking process and make sure it is nice and toasted.

Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl, add in the berries, and give it a good mix.

Store the granola into an airtight container. This should last you a good week or so, if it lasts that long.

This granola is not too sweet, and has all of those wonderful flavors and textures you expect in a great granola. Hope you enjoy.
