A chocolate dipped fruit treat the kids will love.
Cut the bananas in 1-2 inch chunks. Insert toothpicks for dipping.
In a microwave safe bowl add shortening and chocolate chips. Microwave on full power for 1-2 minutes until melted. Remove and stir well.
Dip the bananas in the chocolate and set on a waxed paper lined tray.
At this time, you may roll in chopped nuts, granola, sprinkles or flake coconut.
Set entire tray in freezer for 2 hours. Once they are hardened, remove from the tray and store in Ziploc bags and return to freezer.
***Note***
You may omit shortening and replace with creamy or chunky peanut butter.
This also works well with strawberries and cantaloupe.
